Thank you for writing these down! So for our work in focusing the first design charrette, we can start by imagining all possibilities for these practices to be amped up and modeled in Ferndale, through a handful of pilot projects - potentially a greenhouse and the expansion of the timebank to begin with. Our partnerships will help creatively and organically grow the pilot projects, so that they model in a clear and dynamic way, the collaborative and "mesh" communities and the alternative energy and sustainability platforms that engage K-12, the "creative class" and the various community minded and thoughtful individuals in Ferndale, while creating 21st Century Digital Learning Environments that meet the larger educational conversation.
Can you post on the blog a map of our "community intelligence" that has shown interest in helping the timebank grow and/or would partner with it in service to other interconnected business, community, sustainability and educational development projects? We can add to this, but initially start with this smaller group and connect with the work of 21st Century Digital Learning Environments.
From what I understand from our last meeting, there are individuals from these areas below that would contribute to the building of these models, but not sure exactly how - but this is something we can find out at the meeting.
Agriculture, Information/digital learning and resources (Library) Transportation, Business Development/Incubators/Owners, Education
Great talk! Wake up from the hangover of waste :)
ReplyDeleteMy notes:
Social networks being reinvented into appealing forms, providing trust, wisdom of crowds/power of numbers, enabled collaborators
Consumption to Collaboration! Culture of me -> culture of we
4 key drivers:
renewed belief in importance of community
peer2peer networks
environmental concerns
recession
Systems:
redistribution markets
collaborative lifestyles (timebanks!)
product service
You don't need the drill, you need the hole; you don't want the DVD, you want to view the movie
